This type of dissertation has the same chapter requirements as a Master’s dissertation. Generally, chapters tend to adhere to one prescribed type and format in respect of required information.

Generally the same as an undergraduate dissertation. Usually, both dissertation types are made up of an abstract, introductory chapter, review of literature chapter, methodology chapter, presentation of data with analysis of same, results and discussion of findings, and conclusion. Both types also contain a cover or title page and a bibliography.

This is generally the same in both types of dissertation. In any case, the chosen topic should be relevant, important, and feasible.

  • The topic should be chosen carefully.
  • Students should do as much topic research as possible.
  • An outline is essential for good organization.
  • A solid timetable should be established to remain on track.
  • It is important to adhere to all the instructions you are given and make use of the instruction guide or handbook that is frequently provided since this will contain all instructions about the research, formatting, and writing requirements. 
  • Avoid plagiarism and never use another person’s words or works without accurate reference.
  • Do a little work on your project each day during term time i.e. do not leave everything until the eleventh hour.
  • Revise and proofread your work and seek feedback from your tutor, course adviser and/or fellow students.
